Maui
Maui has it all: from 42 miles of terrific coastlines, to waterfalls, and a 10,000 foot volcano. If you want to come to Maui to see the island, our tours are the perfect way to do so! If you give us a week, we will show you the most famous sites, plus some special secret places of our own. We have two 15-passenger vans led by our experienced tour guides for an organized tour to a different place each day of the week. It is our way of sharing the island with the budget traveler. You must be a guest at our hostels to participate.

Day 1 - Monday Iao Valley tour
The Banana Bungalow Maui Tour takes you to Iao Valley State Park, where you will enjoy rain forest hike in one of Hawaii's most significant historical sites. You will stop at Kepaniwai Cultural Park, and be able to swim in the sacred Iao Valley Stream. Even though it is a long walk, it surely is pleasant: so bring your walking or mountain shoes!

Day 2 - Tuesday All day Hana tour.    
This is a day which you must not miss! Every truesday, the Hana Tour begins at 8.00am. We take you along the coast for miles, with waterfalls at every turn, and cross over 40 one-lane bridges. Just past Hana, you will stop at the "Seven Sacred Pools", fresh water pools and waterfalls that empty into the turquoise blue ocean and also swim at the hidden Red Sand Beach. Eventually there is a hike through a bamboo forest ending at a 290ft. high waterfall!

Day 3 - Wednesday west Maui&Lahaina tour
On Wednesday, the Banana Bungalow Maui hostel offers an all-day tour of west Maui. The tour takes you along the western coast of Maui to the old whaling town of Lahaina, once the capital of the Kingdom of Hawaii. You will rent snorkeling gear, and head up to Kaanapali to snorkel Black Rock. Back in Lahaina there will be some free time to shop, visit art galleries, restaurants and historical sites, including Buddhist shrines. Price of snorkel gear rental is not included: $6.

Day 4 - Thursday turtle tour   
On Thursday, the Banana Bungalow Maui hostel takes you snorkeling at our favorite secret spot by the Maui Prince hotel beach. We will also snorkel the famous "turtle town" where you can swim among a large group of sea turtles. You will spend some leisure time on Makena beach, before we head to the last stop which is a local handcraft market in the town of Kihei. The price of snorkel rental gear is not included: $2-$6. The tour stops to rent gear on the way. 

Day 5 - Friday Paia town/North Shore Beach day tour
We will take you to Paia Town, a historic sugar cane, and a surf town, full of interesting shops, great food, and a great beach! You will have the entire day to relax and enjoy Maui’s beautiful north shore.

Day 6 - Saturday Haleakala Volcano tour
We leave in the morning for the incredible drive up Haleakala, which is just over 10,000 feet high, and above the clouds.. You will experience a stunning array of climate zones as we pass through pasture land, exotic flower farms, and fragrant pine trees in order to reach the with lava flows covered summit. At the top we will begin with a 12 mile hike through the largest dormant volcano in the world. The landscape makes you feel like you are on another planet. Be sure to bring warm clothes and rain gear, since it is 30 degrees cooler at the summit than at sea level. After the hike we will watch the sunset above the clouds, and head home to our Jacuzzi to soothe those aching muscles! 

Day 7 - Sunday Makena Beach tour
Take a day off from hiking and adventure to relax at Makena's Big Beach and Little Beach. These beaches in southwest Maui are among the most beautiful ones on the Hawaiian Islands. Big Beach is a large, white sand beach and good for some interesting body surfing. Little Beach is hidden on the other side of a lava outcropping, and is clothing optional. Often there are people playing music and dancing. The beach day ends with Maui's biggest sunset jam, right on the beach.

Day 8 - Monday Laua in Lahaina Hawaii feast
Going to Hawaii and not attending a Laua would be like going to New York and not visiting Manhattan. A Laua is a traditional Hawaiian feast with Hawaiian music, hula and fire dancing. Lahaina Luaua offers the most delicious and authentic food and the most well-produced and choreographed entertainment. Remember to bring your appetite, to embrace the aloha spirit, and to designate a sober driver. You will never forget this incredible experience in Maui.

Day 9 - Tuesday day off to relax.
Since this would be our last day in Maui some may want to join the hotel Hana tour, or just stay at the hostel and relax. Those who stay at the hotel can have a night out to the theater to see the movie of their choice.

Kauai
Day 10 Tueday
After arriving and checking into the house in Kauai, there is time to change and relax. For those who want to do grocery shopping for the safari, the next day, get the chance to do so.

Day 11 Wednesday
Surf Safari Tour: Discover some of the best kept secret surf spots in Kauai. Let us take you on a Surfing Safari as we explore some of Kauai's beautiful beaches. This adventure includes surfboards, cold water, fresh fruits and transportation to the various surf spots along the shore.
Hula lessons: The torches are lit, the night is filled with music, and family members gather to bring you a casual, relaxing and romantic dining experience that starts off with the Imu Ceremony - the unearthing of the traditional pig, cooked to perfection in an underground oven. Thirst-quenching tropical cocktails are served inside the luau hale. The luau meal features traditional luau favorites, tropical fruit and a special Hawaiian dessert table, Hawaiian musicians serenade during the luau meal. Young members of the family take the stage, and even invite guests up on stage for a hula lesson. Kauai Luaus can be booked online for a discount.

Day 12 Thursday
Sailing Tour: this popular cruise travels far up the Napali Coast where you will get the chance to snorkel and scuba among turtles and tropical fish. Sunset cruises include cocktails.

Day 13 Friday
Surf Safari: surf safari is a great way to combine surfing and exploring many different beaches, towns, villages and the ever changing landscape of  Kauai. From beginner to advanced, join us on a four hour safari to a secluded surf spots where our experienced instructors will give you their personal attention and share the surfing experience with you.
Kauai North Shore: North Shore is anything north of Kapaʻa on Kauaʻi's Coconut Coast. A wonderful day trip takes you past "King Kong's Profile," the Kilauea National Wildlife Refuge and Lighthouse, the resort area of Princeville, the famous Hanalei Lookout, Hanalei Town, and then past some of the world's most beautiful beaches ending at Keʻe Beach where, if you are daring and in good shape, you can hike along the northern part of the Kalalau Trail along the Nā Pali Coast.

Day 14 Saturday
Polihale State Park: West of Hale Puka`Ana are the beaches of Polihale State Park. Be sure to bring your camera and get some postcard-perfect shots of the West end of the magnificent NaPali Coast and the amazing sunset!

Day 15 Sunday
Surf Safari: Kauai has many surf spots on the islands, most of which remain a secret. Our surf safari takes you to some of the best surfing spot in Kauai. In fact, Hanalei Bay is one of the best surfing locations on all of the Hawaiian Islands. On this surf safari you will be able to check out some of the best waves of Kauai.
Snorkel Tour: Kauai offers the oldest and most protected reef ecosystems of all the major Hawaiian Islands. Hundreds of species of fish can be found in these delicate "rain forests of the sea", one-third of which are found nowhere else in the world. Some of Kauai’s best snorkeling spots can be found on the remote Na Pali Coast, an area accessible only by boat. Schools of vibrantly colored tropical fish mingle with the ancient Honu, Hawaiian green sea turtles, which graze on the limu, algae, growing on the coral reefs of these waters.

Day 16 Monday
Nature Hike to Waterfalls: That Kauai was an amazing island was known a long time ago. Kauai is one of the most beautiful islands of Hawaii. With so much nature and green it is Hawaiian most natural island. On this day we take you on a hike tour to some of the most beautiful waterfalls of the island -  each waterfall has charms of its own.

Day 17 Tuesday
Surf Safari: Kauai is a wonderful Island to come to for a surfing vacation. Kauai offers more beaches per mile of coastline than on any of the other Hawaiian Islands. Our guides will take you to some of the most incredible breaks along Kauai's shores. You will learn the secrets of the different areas on our safari as your guide teaches you how to check out the surf conditions and how to avoid any dangerous situations.

Oahu
Day 18 Wednesday
Waikiki Oahu day: In the morning you will check into the hostel. After that you are free to go shopping in the many shopping malls of Waikiki, or to visit some of the great surf shops. However, you do not have to go shopping: take a swim in Waikiki and enjoy the magnificent view! During the evening we are going to have dinner in one of the best restaurants: The Cheesecake Factory.
 
Oahu never sleeps and the night life is amazing. For those who want to explore the night life of Oahu, Waikiki offers many clubs and bars. Enjoy it because you do not come to Hawaii every day.

Day 19 Thursday
Oahu North Shore: This part of Oahu is less urbanized than the south shore area. Waimea Bay, Shark's Cove, Three Tables, just to name a few, are great places to snorkel. If you like water sports, this is the place for you to be. With that said, only experienced surfers and bodyboarders should try riding waves out there.
Exploring the North Shore is a crazy experience for every surfer fanatic. The Banzai Pipeline is the most famous big wave on the world's most famous big wave surfing coastline. If you have never been to a surf competition in Hawaii, it surely will be a very surreal experience. Even though we will not be able to surf here, a trip on the North Shore will make you realize why surfing is so big in Hawaii!

Day 20 Friday
Farewell Hawaii: as today would be our last day into the Islands of Hawaii, we take the time to say goodbye to Hawaii, and for those who want to have the chance to buy souvenir before going back home.
